The Notebook

"The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks is a love story between Allie and Noah who met in a summer in a small town before World War II, and they spent it together and fell in love with each other. Allie came from a wealthy family. When the summer ended Allie went back to her home in the city and Noah stayed in town. Noah loved Allie, so he wrote a letter to her everyday for a year but Allie never answered him. To forget about Allie, Noah travels north to find a job, the the war started and he went to fight. After serving his country he goes back home. Allie was having a pretty good life, he had a lot of things to do everyday and she was engaged with a wealthy man named London. Before getting married, Allie goes to visit Noah. She did not know why she went, but she knew she was doing the right thing. They saw each other after 14 years when they met. Noah was happy to see her because he was going for a long time for this to happen. Allie stayed with Noah for two days, and because their love back then was real their feelings for each other never changed, so they fell in love with again.   Allie knows she cannot stay much time with Noah because soon she will get married, she does not know who to choose because London does not make her feel like Noah does, so she has to choose between London and Noah, but she does not want to disappoint anybody including her family.

I like this story because it was dramatic and romantic and I like this kind of books, I think it a great story which cached my attention. Also Nicholas Sparks is a great author who writes amazing books and this was one of them. This love story made me feel sad when Allie did not answer any of the letters Noah sent her, even thought it wasn't her fault, Noah was good enough to send her 365 letters. In other part I felt sad was when Allie got engaged because even though they didn't see each other for 14 years, Noah thought in her and when he was with other women it wasn't the same for him, his true feelings for Allie never changed. I felt happy when Allie went back to Noah before getting married and spent two days together in which Noah showed her everything and did a lot of things to make her stay with him.

This is a very romantic book which most of the women will like to read because it is the kind of love most women dream of. I would recommend it to people who like dramatic love stories like teens and adolescents who may like this book because it teaches you that when you really love somebody and your feelings for him or her are true, distance and time will not make your feelings or love go away even though many years or months have passed, because back then it was true love. 

''The Notebook'' by Nicholas Sparks has a movie based on the book. As always, movies are not exactly the same as the books and this one is not the exception. In the book, the notebook in which the story of Noah and Allie since they met was written by Noah, but in the movie it was written by Allie. In the book, Noah and Allie were separated for 14 years, while in the movie they were separated for 7 years.  In the book Noah and Allie seem to have a perfect relationship and they never fight, while in the movie they fight about everything even thought they are deeply in love. I would change all this things that are different to make it better and stay true to the story. 

Some situations that makes the theme most clearly which is love are that when Noah and Allie met in a summer when they were 17 they just saw each other that summer and their feelings for each other never changed even thought they saw each other again fifteen years later. Noah always waited for Allie without knowing that she will come back to him and they will be together for the rest of their lifes. 

Allie and Noah grew old and Allie had Alzheimer so she does not remember anything neither Noah. Noah is always by her side, telling her stories and hoping she would remember him. Even though sometimes Allie don't want to see him because she does not remember him and does not know him,  Noah's feelings for Allie have not change, he stills loves her and will do everything just for her to remember him. Sometimes Allie just want to be alone and because Noah wants to be with her, it hurts 

Love conquers all.  Even thought Noah and Allie had a lot of obstacles in their relationship, their love always brought them together. First they faced the pressure of Allie's parents and their social position, her mother hides the letters Noah sent her. Then they are separated for fourteen years in which a lot of things happen to them. Before getting married with a wealthy man named Lon, Allie visits Noah and everything changes. Instead of doing what her parents wanted her to do that was marry Lon, she did what her heart was telling her and chose true love over everything else.

Noah and Allie met in a summer when both were 17 years old. Noah lived in a small town where Allie went on vacation that summer. Most of the time they were together, Noah taught Allie lots of things. Both felt in love with each other. When the summer ended both were very sad because they did not know if they were going to see each other again. Allie's parents did not accept Noah because he was in a lower social group. Neither one of them have felt the same way for another person than they felt for each other. Time passed and Noah started working, enlisted to a world war, met new women, but he still missed Allie. Allie helped other people, and met a man who was perfect for her, he was a wealthy lawyer, hard working and good looking. Noah and Allie saw each other again fifteen years later. Allie visited Noah and he was very excited to see her again, they had a dinner and talked about what was going in their lifes since the last time they saw each other. Allie told him about the man she was going to marry and Noah felt sad inside but outside he looked like he was happy, Noah knew that there was no way he could make Allie stay with him. Noah also knew that he was not going to meet another woman who he can count on and tell her about his dreams. Allie knew that the man she was going to marry was awesome but he was not going to be like Noah. The night Allie visited Noah he felt in love with her again, both had a great time but Allie had to return back. The man Allie was going to marry, will never make her will like Noah always did. 

Noah is the main character from ''The Notebook''. His parents have died, Noah was very close to his father, what his father used to tell him was ''the first time you fall in love, it changes your life forever, and no matter how hard you try, the feeling never goes away...'' Noah is very dedicated and hard working, once he wants something, he will work as hard as he can to get it. He is kind, loyal, gentile and honest. He is also faithful, strong and good looking. He likes to read poetry. He went to a war and survived. His first and true love was Allie. He is sensitive, he is not rich neither poor. He is the ideal man.  

Allie is also one main character. She comes from a wealthy family, she was well educated. She was very beautiful. She was kind, loving and caring. She was close with her father and not too close with her mother. She liked to paint. She always loved Noah even when she was engaged with Lon.
